I want to save into a windows share, which doesn't work.

If you specify a UNC path in the EEAttachments configurator, there is no error. However, if you run the service, the file output fails with an error message in the logs.

In this case, the service has no authorization for the UNC path, as it is executed as the "Local System" user by default and therefore cannot save the file due to the authorization. To authorize the service accordingly, either specify a user who has access during installation or configure the service accordingly.

To do this, please open the Windows services ([WIN]+R services.msc) and search for the EEAttachments service.

Dienstbenutzer für Eattachments ändern

Click to [Properties] => [Log on] and change the user to another one.

  • When changing the service user, please also note that the user you have selected requires write permissions on the local computer in the C:\ProgramData\EEAttachments\ and C:\ProgramData\EEAttachments\logs\ directories.
